FAQ

Interior wall cavities, cathedral ceilings, attic roof decks (conditioned attic assemblies), and interior floors over unconditioned spaces. Also excellent for soundproofing between floors and units in multifamily projects.
Open-cell foam absorbs water — it should not be used in consistently wet or below-grade environments. Closed-cell foam is the correct choice for basements, crawl spaces, and below-grade walls.
Open-cell foam achieves approximately R-3.7 per inch. To meet the Massachusetts code requirement of R-49 in attics, you need approximately 13 inches of open-cell foam.
